Heavy traffic, life's distractions
So many pressures taxing me
Stressing me, vying for time & affection
Pullin' me in every which direction /
Hectic, I need to take a second
To pull away moment of reflection, heart connection
Your word is a lamp to these steps
Everyday I'm thinking about Your precepts /
The entrance of Your word brings light to me
Open up my eyes that I might see
My joy & delight, breakin' lies, makin' wise
The simple-minded, sight for the blinded /
I love the scriptures more than riches
Than pieces of gold, the secrets unfold as I read
Like the Road to Emmaus
All the phrases are leaping off the pages /

I will keep Your word inside my heart so I don't fall apart
I will stick with You through thick and thin so that I do not sin
In Your words I've got my trust
My treasure that won't rot or rust
I will choose to walk in Your way everyday from dawn till dusk

I love Your words, the lines and the paragraphs
Keep me on the straight & narrow path
They're teaching me a lesson, my confession
When temptation knocks my foundation's on a rock /
Flesh is grass, fading fast but Your word lasts forever
In every passage reversing the curse
Reading every chapter every verse
And my soul converts /
Cold hearts get ignited when Your words get recited
Through the ups & downs of life gaining crowns of life
When the storms come, Psalm number 1
By the waters green trees planted by the streams /
Seeds falling on the fertile soil
Through my labor and my toil
I'll be sitting at your feet, gettin' oil
Through the day to day, the 9-5, the daily grind
I think about Your words, I pull away, I make the time /
